Conference on the special work targeting examination and evaluation of undergraduate education and teaching

On July 29th, the School of English and Literature and the School of Translation Studies held a conference on special work targeting examination and evaluation of undergraduate education and teaching according to the requirements of the third teaching work conference at the university. The aim was to do well in the examination and evaluation of undergraduate education and teaching, further standardize the evaluation materials, and improve work efficiency. The members of the leading groups from both schools attended the conference, which was presided over by Yuan Xiaolu, the dean.

During the conference, Yuan recognized a lot of work done by both schools regarding examination and evaluation. He also proposed additional requirements for future follow-up work. He stressed that we should attach great importance to examination and evaluation, fully understand its significance for the university's future development prospects, and sort out and rethink about the requirements of the university. It is necessary to find shortcomings, implement rectification, seriously study the index system, prepare materials, improve self-assessment reports with data and examples, focus on concepts, measures, and results of school running. It is also necessary to strengthen communication, gather together as a joint force, and seize the time node to complete all work while implementing responsibility for checking missing items and filling gaps. Subsequently, he focused on each link in undergraduate education teaching examination and evaluation, as well as communication with members of the school leadership team regarding self-evaluation report preparation, status data analysis reports, online reviews by experts, on-the-spot investigations at the school, and preparation of supporting materials. He made requirements for website construction, talent training program revision, teaching design, syllabus creation, and the establishment of a positive teaching culture. Additionally, he provided constructive suggestions on evaluation preparation.
