June 8, 2025, a four-week professional internship for 56 students majoring in English at School of English Language and Culture successfully concluded at Kid Castle SPACE in Furong and Gaoxin campuses.
To ensure the smooth progress of the internship program, Sun Yunan, in charge of this internship, organized a mobilization meeting for the students in Education Direction of the 2022 English Major on May 9. Wang Yinghui, head of the English Department, and Li Donghua, head of the Educational Teaching and Research Office, attended the meeting. During the session, Sun Yunan provided a detailed introduction to Kid Castle SPACE, outlining the specific internship arrangements. Wang Yinghui emphasized the significant importance of this internship. She also mentioned plans to establish “order-oriented classes” in the future through deeper collaboration with Kidcastle, encouraging students to capitalize on this opportunity, study diligently, engage proactively, and fully use the internship to reflect on their personal career planning.
Guided by the principle of “Theory Empowering Practice, Expertise Nurturing Education,” the program immersed students in real-world teaching environments. Students underwent intensive morning training sessions covering lesson design, interactive teaching techniques, and creative teaching-aid development. Afternoons involved practical teaching experiences, such as leading story sessions and facilitating English role-play activities.
Kidcastle supervisors praised the interns highly:

This internship marks an important step for SELC in cultivating well-rounded educators for the new era. It aims not only to foster talents who can tell China’s stories well in English, but also to produce teachers of the new era who understand education, love children and are good at innovation.
