From May 24th to 25th, 2025, the 27th "FLTRP · ETIC Cup" English Public Speaking and Debate Open Competition & the 8th Central China English Open Debate Competition was successfully held online. Four teams from the School of English Language and Culture of XFU competed fiercely against 32 strong teams from across the country, including Shenzhen University of Science and Technology, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Tongji University, Macau University of Science and Technology, and Zhejiang Normal University. Under the guidance of instructors Kong Bin, Chao Yumeng, Liu Yafeng and Zhao Lisheng, our students distinguished themselves among the many participating universities with their solid English foundation and outstanding debating skills, achieving remarkable results: Huang Xinying, a student from the Class of 2021, and Hu Wenjuan, Zhu Yuyang, and Zhang Ruoyun, students from the Class of 2022, all from the English Department, won the second prize with their outstanding performance; Yang Lan and Zheng Siyu, students from the Class of 2022, and Chen Zhi and Li Jiayi, students from the Class of 2023, also from the English Department, successfully won the third prize.
