Gao Guangwen

Gao Guangwen, a graduate supervisor in English language and literature, once served as the dean of the School of Translation Studies at Xi'an Fanyi University. Professor Gao Guangwen studied in the United States for two years and obtained a Master's degree in Literature from Bowling Green State University. While studying, Gao Guangwen published an English paper on "English Translation of Chinese Tang and Song Poetry" in the academic journal Mid-American Review sponsored by the school. Ten years later, Professor Gao Guangwen went to Bauman Moscow State Technical University as an exchange scholar for two years and taught English reading and writing to undergraduate students in the university's English Department. In China, Professor Gao Guangwen has long been engaged in teaching and researching major courses such as senior English majors' English reading, writing, literature, American literature, British and American poetry for graduate students, and western literary theory of the 20th century. His representative academic papers include "Examples of the Interpretation of Contemporary Obscure American Poetry" and Wallace's interpretation of "The The. He also has numerous translations of academic work. He also compiled textbooks such as Perspectives I & II (a reading textbook for senior English majors), Selected Readings of English and American Drama, and Poetry in English. He also participated in the compilation of a large-scale reference book entitled "A New Century Chinese-English Dictionary," which was given as a gift by President Hu Jintao to Confucius Institutes abroad. For seven consecutive years, Professor Gao Guangwen was a member of the four-person proposal group for the national unified examination of British and American literature in the self-study examination center of the Ministry of Education. Professor Gao Guangwen possesses a deep professional background, excellent oral and written communication skills, and is able to explain complex theories in simple terms during his lectures. This has earned him the admiration of students.
